Sunday May 31st 2026 - The Mighty Pen y Ghent - Yorkshire Dales.
Pen y Ghent is popular 'top' with both walkers and runners, who often ascend from Horton In Ribblesdale. Our route will see us avoid the crowds by starting at Helwith Bridge, ascending Pen y Ghent from the South, joining the Yorkshire 3 Peaks route for a while, before heading back to Helwith Bridge along the River Ribble.
Route is approximately 13km, with 550m of ascent, using unpaved bridleways & footpaths. The summit of Pen y Ghent is reached via a section of steep rock steps.
