Personal paddling skills should be at the standard for the remit of the award.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eCOURSE CONTENT \u0026amp; LEARNING OUTCOMES:\u003c\/strong\u003eThis 2 day training course will be tailored to participants individual needs and utilise a range of venues across the Lake District and North West depending on weather conditions and water levels. The course can include an optional night paddle and overnight camp if participants are interested. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThrough the 2 days we will cover the following -\u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eLeadership Skills - \u003c\/strong\u003eTrip Planning and Organisation, Effective strategies for managing a range of groups, adapting strategies to different types of craft. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cb\u003ePersonal Paddling Skills - \u003c\/b\u003eBespoke input on developing personal skills in a range of craft. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eSafety and Rescue Skills - \u003c\/strong\u003eAn opportunity to explore Practical Rescue skills required for the award including Self-Rescue, techniques for performing effective rescues on others, incident management, emergency procedures, equipment solutions\u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eUnderpinning Background Knowledge - \u003c\/strong\u003eRisk Assessment and Decision Making, Communication and Navigation, Remit awareness, Environmental Awareness.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eEQUIPMENT\/KIT REQUIRED: \u003c\/strong\u003ePersonal 'craft' \u0026amp; paddling clothing and equipment as required, appropriate to spending a day on and in the water (Drysuit or Warm wetsuit), Buoyancy Aid, Helmet, Sturdy closed toe footwear ( NOT Crocs, sliders, flimsy beach shoes), Warm Layers, Spare warm layers.
